Cloud / Support / Update Agreement

What is Cloud/Support/Update Agreement for enterprises

Cloud, Support and Update are three services from InterpretBank that make the investment even more worthwhile on the long run. With a permanent license, you have access to these services for exactly one calendar year from the date of your activation.

A valid Cloud/Support/Update Agreement gives you the power to do the following:

  • Maintenance: Download new versions (upgrades) that we release over the year. This is important because InterpretBank continuously receives improvements and new features.
  • Support: Reach out per e-mail or ticketing service to our best-in-class support team whenever you have technical difficulties or questions.
  • Cloud: Use the features of InterpretBank that interacts with our servers, for example cloud-based translation suggestions, upload of glossaries to access them from any device, etc.

You receive these three services through a Cloud/Support/Update Agreement. Before you can activate a newer minor or major version, or turn to our support team, or use our cloud-based services you need to have a valid Cloud/Support/Update Agreement.

How do I know if my Cloud/Support/Update Agreement is valid?

In the first year, you get Support, Maintenance and Cloud automatically

When you purchase a perpetual license, you automatically receive a Cloud/Support/Update Agreement that is valid for one calendar year from the date of license activation (activation needs to be performed within 30 days form the date of purchasing as indicated on the invoice). During this first year, you may download any new releases of InterpretBank, from new builds of the same version that fix issues, to entirely new version of InterpretBank that add new functionality. For example, if you activate InterpretBank on August 1, 2021, you will get new versions and support till July 30, 2022.

You can also contact our support team any time via e-mail or ticketing system. Before your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement expires, InterpretBank will prompt you about the expiry of the Support and Maintenance period. You can see your agreement expiriation date anytime by clicking on menu Help/License. The prompt will contain instructions to extend the Cloud/Support/Update Agreement for another year. After the first year, if you wish to continue to download new versions and receive support, you will need to purchase an extension of the Cloud/Support/Update Agreement for one more year.

Second year and every new year afterwards: Extend your Support, Maintenance and Cloud

To extend your Support, Maintenance and Cloud Agreement for one more year, you need to pay the fees indicated onour webpage. This price will be never superior to 30% of the full license price on the date you extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement. The price is stated in our Pricing page. Once you extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement, you will continue to benefit from new versions released by InterpretBank and gain access to Support and to the Cloud services for one more year. When you extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement, your new 1-year Cloud/Support/Update Agreement always starts when the previous Cloud/Support/Update Agreement expired. If your first-year Cloud/Support/Update Agreement expires on August 31, 2021, your second year will start on September 1, 2021 – no matter when you actually extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have the latest version, but my Cloud/Support/Update Agreement has just expired. Can I download or receive the next release?

No. To get a new minor or major version, you need a valid Cloud/Support/Update Agreement on the date the new version was officially release.

After my Cloud/Support/Update Agreement expires, how long can I get releases and bugfixes?

To get a new minor or major version, you need a valid Cloud/Support/Update Agreement on the date the new version was officially release.

Must I renew my Cloud/Support/Update Agreement no matter what happens?

No. You can use your InterpretBank license without a valid Cloud/Support/Update Agreement. However, it’s worth having a valid Cloud/Support/Update Agreement – because you do need a valid Cloud/Support/Update Agreement to install and use new versions, access Support and use all the Cloud services offered by InterpretBank.

My Cloud/Support/Update Agreement expired more than a year ago. How can I catch up with my SMC to have a valid one?

You can extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement anytime. However, your new 1-year Cloud/Support/Update Agreement always starts when the previous Cloud/Support/Update Agreement expired. For example, if your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement expires on June 30, 2021, and you extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement on January 8, 2021, your new Cloud/Support/Update Agreement will still expire on June 30, 2022.

And if you wait for more than a year, and extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement on October 12, 2020, your new year will still expire on June 30, 2020. When this happens, and you want your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement to be valid on October 12, 2020, you will need to extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement for two more years, not just one. We strongly recommend that you extend your Cloud/Support/Update Agreement for one more year immediately before your last year expires.
